Respiratory Syncytial Virus Type A and Type B Nucleic Acid Detection Kit (Fluorescence PCR)-RUO
[Intended Use]
This kit is intended for the in vitro qualitative detection of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) type A and type B nucleic acid in oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal swab specimens from individuals with suspected RSV infection.
Product name
HWTS-RT4043-Respiratory Syncytial Virus Type A and Type B Nucleic Acid Detection Kit (Fluorescence PCR)-RUO
Epidemiology
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is an RNA virus of the *Paramyxoviridae* family, classified into type A and type B. Transmitted via respiratory droplets and close contact, RSV is a leading cause of lower respiratory tract infections in infants and young children.
In infants, RSV infection may lead to severe bronchiolitis and pneumonia, and is associated with childhood asthma development. Older children and adults typically present with upper respiratory tract manifestations.
