Epidemiology
Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the pathogen of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), belongs to the retrovirus family. HIV transmission routes include contaminated blood and blood products, sexual contact, or HIV-infected mother-infant transmission before, during, and after pregnancy. Two human immunodeficiency viruses, HIV-1 and HIV-2, have been identified to date.
Currently, serological tests are the main basis for HIV laboratory diagnosis. This product uses colloidal gold immunochromatography technology and is suitable for detection of human immunodeficiency virus infection, whose results are for reference only.
