Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) is a glycoprotein secreted by the trophoblast cells of the placenta, which is composed of glycoproteins of α and β dimers. After a few days of fertilization, HCG begins to secrete. With the trophoblast cells produce plenty of HCG, they can be discharged into urine through blood circulation. Therefore, the detection of HCG in urine samples can be used for the auxiliary diagnosis of early pregnancy[1].

| Specificity | Test the human luteinizing hormone (hLH) with concentration of 500mIU/mL, the human follicle stimulating hormone (hFSH) with concentration of 1000mIU/mL and the human thyrotropin (hTSH) with concentration of 1000μIU/mL, and the results are negative. |

Precautions:
1. Do not read the result after 10 mins.
2. If the subject suspects the possibility of pregnancy, and the urine test result is negative, the morning urine can be re-collected after 48-72 hours to re-test.
3. In the following cases, the positive result may occur due to high HCG content in the urine[2,3]: Patients with uterine tumors, endometrial hyperplasia, hydatidiform moles, choriocarcinoma, menopause and gastric cancer.
